Rocky Mountain Colorado
This is where a dream was born. Though I lived in
Colorado for more than thirty years, my love of
the water never ceased to exist. I found other
ways to enjoy it until I could return to my ocean
roots.
My rafting days started when I took on the
daunting task of canoing down the only river left in
Colorado that did not have a major damn. The
Yampa River is one of the last wild rivers in the
west. It has only a few small dams and diversions
and empties into the Green River in the canyon of
Dinosaur National Park. This five day canoe trip
would not have had significant meaning except
that year water levels were four times the river
flow average. It made for a very impressive and
challenging trip. It was after this experience I
looked for and found the raft you see. I enjoyed
the raft sixteen years and had the opportunity to
eventually take "at risk" inner city teens on day
trips. It was a joy for me to see the smiles and
laughter that came from their lips..

Below are some of the many experiences that awaited me And yes, even sailing

This is a sister of the sailboat I owned and sailed on Dillon Reservoir in Colorado for a year and four years on the Chesapeake Bay, MD. The beginnings of a dream to sail around the world after I retired.
